Thursday, June 5th, 2014The beautiful northern coast of Spain. Just want to dive in! 🙂
The Castle
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014Edinburgh Castle.
Surprisingly nice photo from a little compact — it’s getting ever more tempting to leave the dSLR at home!

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011Ullswater
Sunday, October 17th, 2010A view down over Ullswater in the lake district.
A rather cloudy day with the fluffy white stuff not only blocking the view of the sky, but also of the ground. Spent most of the morning climbing up a big hill for the view, only to end up right in the middle of a cloud. Naturally, on the descent the clouds cleared off the hills!
Oh well, I’ll just have to go back!
Flow
Saturday, October 16th, 2010And the river flows ever on,
bringing life with every bend and fall,
paying no heed to wished or desires,
onwards, downwards to the sea,
Unstoppable rushing and gushing,
unblockable meandering and wandering.
No mortal effort can deny its desire,
ever towards the embrace of the ocean.
No earthly creation can halt the progress,
the small and soft get carried away,
the large and hard are but a temporary obstacle,
pushing, cutting, routing, sooner or later a path is formed.
The river flows on, through rain and shine,
the seasons roll past, a century is but a flash,
indifferent to the admiration of passers by and artists,
ignorant of the curses from travellers trying to cross.
Part of the Aira Force near Ullswater in the lake district.
Purple Kings
Saturday, September 18th, 2010Kings college in a stunning Cambridge sunset.
Will need to try again when the college isn’t covered in scaffolding!
Lookout
Sunday, July 11th, 2010The top of a mountain is always a good place to watch the sun set. Even better if you have a comfy lookout to watch from.
Unfortunately there is no road and the path is somewhat under-maintained, so no staying to watch the whole sunset! 🙁
Come Sail Away
Friday, July 9th, 2010It’s amazing that boats are just tied up with a simple knot. I guess it’s a much more trusting community. Very tempting to just push off and row into the wild blue yonder.
City Escape
Wednesday, July 7th, 2010The beautiful rooftops of Dubrovnik’s old town (as viewed from the walls and their tiny windows)
Welcome to Clare
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009The warm welcome of Clare College (well actually it’s the warm welcome of the street viewed from inside Clare College – but that doesn’t seem quite so flattering!)
It proved quite tricky to find an angle I liked, while not walking on the grass (and since the snow prints would be a give-away, I thought best to stick to the path)
Kings behind bars
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009Damn these colleges and their obsessive security. One day I’ll learn how to pick locks and then I’ll finally get a good shot of King’s chapel!
Kings towers
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009The towers over the chapel of Kings college, Cambridge after the recent snow showers.
Unfortunately me + heavy camera bag + cold outside don’t go together very well, so most of the snow had melted by the time I put on enough layers to go outside.
Town Square
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009Looking out over Prague’s old town square with the astronomical clock on the wall of the old town hall.
The view from the top of the hotel
YATETS
Monday, July 20th, 2009Yet Another Touristy Eiffel Tower Shot
Taken from Palais de Chaillot with the statues from the Cite de l’architecture enjoying the view (so much so in some cases that they just have to strip off)
Sunset
Saturday, July 18th, 2009Next in the haphazard update from my trip to Paris.
One of the many beautiful statues in the Jardin des Tuileries and a bit of the Palais du Louvre during the pre-sunset time of the day when there is still lots of light but with sunset colours.

Taken from the Pavillon Sully looking towards the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel during my recent trip to Paris.
